We now know the biggest reason Simon Fuller gave America’s favorite underdog a shot on his newest Internet Truman Show. He needed more viewers. Alex Lambert moved into a house that is filled with camera’s and like a giant aquarium, you can watch the “show” 24/7 from your home or work computer. It is The Truman Show on steroids!
On night number one for Alex, he could not sleep, so from his bed, he went online and said, if you are watching this, please twitter me and I will answer your questions… All of this with an Apple laptop and acoustic guitar at hand well after midnight Pacific Coast time.
‘ SPEECHLESS! – Twitter exploded with inquiries and he answered, or sang, as many as he could for HOURS! It was oddly the strangest yet most enjoyable entertainment. His best line was him logging on to the computer and finding himself live on-line and “creeping” himself out. Ha! Many of the twitters said the similar things. Most had words of encouragement, yet the senders felt weird for watching him in his bedroom.
This is not the first show to pull a handful of people together in a house where we can watch them 24/7. But I have a feeling that this is going to be one of those shows that captures the attention of our globe.

Twitters came in from as far as the Philippines and Japan. Alex promises to play in the Philippines first chance he gets. In his words, “because for some reason, people in the Philippians like me.” Ha!
It is good to be 19 years old today — a complete unknown one day – an international sensation the next. The Lord protect him please.

I Always Feel Like, Somebody's Watchin Me...
Putting all bias aside, I think Alex is the best thing to hit this interactive Internet experiment. And even though in a brief moment he let it be known that he is depressed, he spends most of the time pouring-out positive energy, engaging others in the house and trying to find private moments to write heart-revealing songs. Here is last night’s offering. Sorry if the words are not exact. My Internet connection faded during his spontaneous lyrical and musical release:

Sure, he may have “felt” that way for a while, but once he realized that fans were still watching him after he dimmed the lights in his bedroom, he started mugging for the camera, singing, and then immediately playing the song back for himself on his laptop. It looks like he is enjoying himself.
BTW -I was appalled that after the lights went low, the camera switched to a night vision status –UGG! Poor guy, can’t a man get a moment of privacy? But then I watched him have fun for hours! Go figure! (Yes dear reader, I see the contradiction in this statement – Ha!)
Once again, everything Alex Lambert touches turns to gold. We now have new American superstar in the making. The best news is that he is currently unbridled, fresh and relevant.
Let’s hope Hollywood doesn’t make him out to become something he is not. America, and now the whole Internet world, love Alex just the way he is.

So, I was very fond of Alex before last night. I loved hearing him sing enough that I was willing to advocate for his return to the Idol stage, especially after realizing he was robbed. But that’s as far as it went. But today absolutely I’m head over heels in love with him, like I’ve never been with any other artist!!
Rather than staying pretty quite and shying away from the camera, (as I thought would happen), he tossed his uncomfortable feelings and fears right out, and embraced his hoards of stalkers. The energy drink he downed around 11:30pm, kept him awake tweeting with fans, in what felt like a private and intimate bonding session, that lasted until 4:00am this morning!! He quietly sang bits of their song requests, and answered questions about his various likes and dislikes.
We learned, the gratitude he expresses for his Idol experience isn’t just talk, He truly is grateful, and its mostly because he now has us! The Lennon tattoo he’s hoping to get soon, will be the illustration of John Lennon from the Imagine artwork! His Favorite Beatles song is “Hey Jude”. Particularly, the section in the meledy and verse, “So let it out and let in, Hey Jude begin, You’re waiting for someone to perform with” He misses his arty beatle-esq mullet, and says he never agreed to the new baby mullet! He said, just before the photo shoot, the hair stylist broke out the scissors to trim his hair. When he got to the back Alex asked, him how much he was cutting off the length, and the stylist assured him he was just giving it a “trim”. But when he was all done, he left with a “baby mullet.” He doesn’t think Mary Powers deserves to have her name mentioned by him, and whole allot more!
We ate up every second of our private bonding time!! He’s a very raw, honest and open guy! I suspect that if he’s able to continue to find the private time (lets say once or twice a week while in the house) to build this kind of a intimate relationship with the record buying public. They’ll be no stopping the heights they’ll carry him to!
Great write up man!! Alex was robbed off Idol and he’s getting what he deserve on IICD.
